According to Il Corriere Dello Sport, Roma midfielder Alberto Aquilani has been told to prepare himself to join Liverpool by the Italian Club.
The report has said that Rafa Benitez will try to buy Aquilani if Alonso is to join Madrid. However, Spanish newspaper AS said that Alonso had hinted in an interview after the Rapid Vienna game that he will not force a move away from Anfield and will not leave the club if Rafa doesn’t want to cash in on him.
Xabi is expected to stay at least one more season or until his contract with The Reds expires.

He’s a bit more brisk going forward and likes to shoot, although that’s in Serie A, where he gets the time to.
He’s a good passer but I just don’t see him settling in to the English game. Many Italians have tried, few have succeeded (although he could turn out to be another Zola. ;o)
Alonso should stay though. No question.
as long as we get sneijder and 22m quid, we should still be able to get silva.
i think that we should build on our english players for when this new rule comes into force, by going for Lee cattermole and Ashley Cole. massive potential!
