Liverpool linked to Peter Crouch

Liverpool Football Club are on the verge of signing Portsmouth forward Peter Crouch- the Daily Star reports.

The former Liverpool striker has been linked with a move away from the South Coast club all summer, with both Spurs and Sunderland interested in the goal hunter. However, the Daily Star are reporting in tomorrow morning’s edition of the tabloid paper that the striker will begin talks with the Merseyside club.

Speculation over Peter Crouch returning to his former club has grew stronger over the summer with Rafa Benitez needing back-up for prolific forward Fernando Torres.

  1. Why would he want to come back and play backup? He hated that in the first place. Not that I wouldn’t love to see Crouch back but it just seems odd.

As for the robot, I’m convinced that the minute he stopped doing it, his form dropped. Just imagine if he could get the whole team to do it at the same time. Hilarious.

  2. You can’t deny that the fella has a great goal record. Great backup imo. Was hoping we would look into him and Portsmouth still owe us money from crouch so we wouldn’t pay much.

I did not appreciate him this much when he was with us. Looking back and what he gives to the side also that Rafa really didn’t want him to leave I see him and a good squad player.

  3. I would prefer having Crouch with us as an extra striking option…

We were woefully short >> literally… in the penalty box last season…

Crouch will bring back a new dimension to our game what with Johnson at the flank to supply the crosses…
And let’s not forget his place in Capello’s England squad is basically sealed >> only a matter of whether he gets to start…

Sometimes, it is enough of an achievemnet to be part of the 23-man World Cup Squad.. a steady English team that might just add the 2nd star to their jersey in South Africa !!!

  4. I like Peter Crouch, and I’d like to see him coming back to Liverpool.

But then again. I’m afraid he’ll be on the bench most of the time, so why bother? Let him go to a club where he can always play as the main forward.

  5. I hope this story is true cruochy should never have
left us . If he was still with us last season we would of
won the prem FACT come on crouchy do the rope

and unique2 we used the money portsmouth owed
    us on glen Johnson

  6. As long as he doesn’t mind coming off the bench the majority of the time I would absolutely LOVE to see him back. He would be a perfect complement to the signing of glen johnson and the two of them might well combine to give us a few of those goals we need to turn draws into wins.
