Problem with Aquilani Medical

Posted by

According to sources close to Empire of the Kop Liverpool-bound midfielder Alberto Aquilani has had some problems with his medical examination which may break down a deal for the Italian.

It has not been confirmed what the problem is but questions have been raised over the injury-prone players fitness ever since he was linked with a move to Anfield in the early part of this transfer window. If the player fails to pass a medical it may cause the deal to be called off or Liverpool may ask for a reduced price for the player due to the risk involved with taking a player with medical problems.

Whatever the result it is a concern for all Liverpool fans with no current replacement for Alonso other than Brazilian Lucas Leiva who was average at best in the reds’ last league campaign.

  1. The consensus amongst Roma fansa is that he is good but way too injury prone. This medical is a good opportunity to drop the bid for Aquilani and go for Defour who woudl be cheaper and just as good

  2. I have not had much faith in him in the past, but I think Lucas has really matured as a footballer over the past year and perhaps should become a regular. Maybe we could look to spend our money on more of an attacking player, Villa or Silva?..

  3. His injury record does worry me – and Premier League is much tougher than serie A – so this is a worry too!

  4. i’m happy wit liverpool gettin defour..his young n got a bright future..as long as we dont sign poulson

  5. Well this is bad but if the deal is off Rafa should go after Van der Vaart he has the same skill as Xabi takes Free kicks takes the corners no offense to Aquilani but I’d preferred Van der Vaart.

  6. thats a serious concern but no one can disagree that he wud have an immediate impact.Concerns were always there that he wud be burnt beyond limits to pass a medical at liverpool.Thats alarming situation but lets hope the best for the sake of #19.No offence but I m not sure Lucas is enuf capable of taking up the role and the expectations linked with this position.Though he has enjoyed more than enough support from Rafa. 7. Pure sh1te talk. His medical was only to take place today and you post this article before 9 am this morning????????

  8. well tbf jason, he does know a lot about injuries! practically a honorary doctor! and yeah, his medical hasnt taken place yet, i know LFC have measures in place to make it rigorous testing, just to be sure, but he hasnt taken it yet so how can he have already failed?

  9. Why are we even looking at an ijury prone player at 20mil!! madness. Harry Kewell ring any bells? Probably made £500000 per match he played!

  10. well he is a good player, but if it is true that he did not pass his medical then the deal should be canceled and we should get another replacement very soon

  11. So many names come for 20M, ive never been totally agree with aquilani
    I see 2 options.
We sign Silva, who can play as a Offensive midfielder and Gerrard comes back for his original position.
Or we go for Defour, yes the rookie is already a star in his country, and fits perfectly the midfielder position.

  12. Since Lucas has bulked up he’s looked steadier. He’s got a got a good boot on him and a decent eye – hopefully he can fit in more now.
