Liverpool 1 – Aston Villa 3 (gutted)

As like all of you I am gutted beyond belief about the result tonight I am trying to find positives and I just can not.

We went through last season only losing 2 games in 38 matches and now we have lost 2 in 3, what is going on? We are not out of August yet and we are already 6 points behind the leaders. The players did not perform tonight and I just can not blame one single player but I blame the whole team, Rafa and most of all our owners.

There is obviously an issue of morale here and this goes beyond the field and leads all the way to the boardroom. I hate to sound negative but something must be done with our ownership situation A.S.A.P. as it is now effecting our performance on the field.  Gillett & Hicks must sell to an owner who is willing to invest in the club, we need money fast.

Newspaper articles have been comparing us to Leeds and that just sends shivers down the spine, even some very loyal fans are losing their patience.  Today I even saw a few tweets from Liverpool supporters mentioning the R word, Relegation.

We need to pick ourselves up for the next game against Bolton and hope that the ownership situation is resolved fast.

Y.N.W.A.

  1. United fan here and I come in peace.

Two losses in three games does NOT mean relegation….as much as I hate liverpool and love taking the mickey out of my friend when they lose…really two losses does not mean relegation. I watched the game and a lot of things just didn’t go ‘pool’s way and you mentioned morale….Last season I noticed (a lot) when ‘pool went behind early, late or midway most of the time they’ll bounce back under the gerrard’s motivation and energy and salvage a point and maybe even win the game but this season….I don’t see that spark…i don’t see the unending, blistering desire to come from behind…to prove every United fan wrong…to make it 19 titles…..Could be that l’pool players are becoming disillusioned and losing faith, belief and hope as a result of their long trophy-less spell? I dunno, but Torres sounded extremely bitter at the start when he made his intentions clear.

Sorry for the long post though. ;)

  2. what a hell is goin’with the defending on the set pieces
all the 5 goals we have conceded were after set pieces

Is not it clear that Zonal marking Sucks, rafa pls do smth with that shit, just improve defending, cause we are capable of scoring one goal in any situation.
Take care of defence -5 goals in 3 games, awful.

  3. Absolutely gutted at last night’s result, although I have to agree with The Red Observer; just because we’ve lost two games at the start of the season doesn’t mean we’re on a downward slope; look at Man U’s start to last season, and their 1-4 loss to Liverpool. They still went on to lift the title.

What was glaringly obvious to me was that we’re missing Xabi Alonso.
