  1. what i wonder about this is: how long time did Any person have to remove the Bathingball out of the playing field? the goal was scored after 4min 58sec.

  2. I feel sorry for the lad who threw the balloon…he looked as gutted as the rest of us…I mean, don’t get me wrong, that was an absolute daft thing to do…But, think about it, that’s definitely not what he meant to do…It’s not like he woke up this morning, and thought, “Hmmm….Let’s see. Today, I think I’ll go to the Staduim of Light, throw me balloon onto the pitch at exactly the right time, so that a shot could be deflected in off it, and cost my team 3 points.”

  3. and another thing ? what would the ref do if the two balls still hit eachother but the bathingball went in and the football went outside of the goalpost ? would he then give Reina a goalkick, cause the football went over the line outside the goal… ?

  4. At the end of the day, the ref should have stopped the game to remove an object which could of and did affect play. Having said that we had plenty of time to score. PS You won’t see that ref for a while, League 2 duty for you my boy.

  5. Absolutely ridiculous that Liverpool fans would sit there and blame the kid. Your team has been woeful for a few games now. That would have been a goal no matter what. A little kid smacked a balloon. Oh no, a kid being a kid.

  6. That kid should be banned from ALL Liverpool matches for life and be drummed out of Liverpool………………
Maybe the trator should go and live in Sunderland, you have no place on our Kop !
BURN YOUR LIVERPOOL SHIRT KID AS YOU NO LONGER HAVE THE RIGHT TO WEAR IT…………….

  7. AWWW I FEEL SORRY FOR THE KID EVERYTHING WENT WRONG FOR HIM IF IT WAS THE OTHER TEAM HOORAY!! FREE COKE BUT IT WAS HIS OWN TEAM OOOHHHHHHHHHH NO!!! SLIT THROAT THEY NEED TO KEEP AN EYE ON HIM (BUT IT’S JUST FOOTBALL) I KNOW

  8. It would be so much different if a sunderand supporter threw it on, the ref would have stopped play and said they interfered. but because it was our supporter, they call it off and say its a goal.

As antonie said, BBC news agreed it should not have counted. Its a foreign object on the field of play and play should have been stopped , or a dropball should have been rewarded once it touched the ball. The ref saying Johnson Affected its deflection is aweful.

The kid will not be looked toward very kindly for quiet a while.. as much as i feel bad for the guilt he may feel, im gutted and embarrassed… We played decent enough without 4 starting payers, just its never our luck..

  9. Cut the lad some slack. I’m as annoyed as anybody about it, but the fact is the child shouldn’t be made a scapegoat. I’m sure he feels terrible enough as it is. So relax on the lad. There’s no need for the disrespect. Imagine if it was your brother or son.

  10. the owners have contributed nothing, the defence is leaking goals, and now our own fans are contributing to our downfall. what the hell is going on this season.

  11. Forgiving that kid will be more torterous to him than banishing him from Merseyside..or even England.. He will feel sorry for himself. Why don’t we name such a goal after his name?..what’s his name?

  12. (Neutral fan) Feel for you guys really, it did cost you the game. Its cost you a point because the team wasnt up to it on the day, No fire power. The kid wasnt stupid enough to do it twice though. Reina put it in his net n the wind blew it out again. Sad way to lose though. That point could cost dear.

  13. I can’t believe you lot would be so harsh on that poor kid. The truth is if that beach ball had caused the ball to be deflected onto the post, preventing a goal, you would all be calling him a hero now.

  14. You guys are a joke, I can’t believe you’re blaming you’re teams bad performance on a kid? really! how old are some of you? its been blown way out of proportion by the media! give the kid a break, everyone makes mistakes. You’re basically venting out you’re frustration out on a kid, who is being a KID! either way, the ball should’ve been dealt with by somebody, oh wait nobody thought it was! Grow up pool fans, well done Sunderland.

  15. Come on guys the poor kid was having a bit of fun. I think it was Reina’s fault he had a chance to clear the Balloon or get one of the ground staff to take it instead he pushed it into the corner of the goal but and the wind blew it back into the pitch anyway that is not reason Liverpool lost the game more than an hour to salvage something from the game and they were not up to it.
