Tonight’s game is make or break for our future in the Champions League, it’s a game which could end Rafa Benitez’ time at Liverpool if it doesn’t go to plan. Taking this into account we all need to be 100% behind the team tonight, it doesn’t matter if you’re for or against the manager those players need to know they have every single supporter backing them, it’s what makes Liverpool F.C great.
It happens time and time again for us in Europe. It’s hard to keep count of the number of games that have been influenced by our passionate and unrelenting support of our team, we’re second to none as a fanbase, we follow the team through thick and thin. It’s something which has changed recently, our support has been split, some people fans of the manager some people not. I’ve already made my feelings clear on this, so I won’t do it again, this is a rallying call, not an opinion piece.
Think back to Olypiacos, Chelsea and Istanbul in 2005, think of Chelsea in 2007. All these European games were won with the 100% support of every red in the stadium, not to mention the support of every red watching on the TV around the world. Let’s forget about arguments tonight, let’s forget about past results. Tonight we need to concentrate on supporting the Redmen through one of our biggest games under the current manager.
All we need tonight, perhaps more than ever, is eachother.
