Young defender Daniel Ayala has signed a new contract with Liverpool Football Club, keeping the Spaniard at Anfield until 2012.
Ayala, who has made three appearances this season, has impressed Liverpool fans with his solid performances at the start of the season, despite having no past experience in the Reds first team.
For me this is a good move by the club, Danny is certainly a young talent with lots to offer and has already shown promising signs already. With Carragher not getting any younger and Agger facing injury after injury it’s good to know we have some solid back up outside of Slovakian centre-back Martin Skrtel. This again shows that our young players do have potential and will be given a chance if Rafa believes they are of good enough quality for the first team.
Hopefully we will see more of the same from Ayala over the rest of his time at Anfield, hopefully we’ll also see other young players making it into the first team, especially those playing well for the reserve team and out on loan at other clubs.
The future’s bright.
