Here is my starting XI for this afternoon’s MUST WIN clash with the Gooners at Anfield:
Reina, Johnson, Carragher, Agger, Aurelio, Mascherano, Aquilani, Benayoun, Kuyt, Gerrard, Torres.
Aurelio is selected for his defensive strengths over Insua. Aquilani is in at the expense of Lucas purely because we are playing at home and we should not be playing 2 holding midfielders @ Anfield although admittedly this tactic worked against Man Ure, but we did not have another selection choice in that game. Aquilani showed his preference for attacking options which will hopefully be the release Gerrard and Torres need.
Please feel free to agree or disagree but either way let’s all cheer the men in red all the way to final whistle and hopefully 3 much needed points!!

Can’t argue with that line up i’d go for the same line up. I have a slight fear however that were gonna start with Dossena on the left of Midfield.

Don’t really see Rafa playing Aquilani from the start. But in my opinion, based on our current form and defensive frailties, we do need two defensive midfielders. Add to that arsenals threat from their quick passing and fast wingers, we need more people to disrupt their play, and lucas and masch do that very well. So our hope lies in attack, we need to be lethal in front of goal. Hope stevie, torres/n’gog our wingers don’t 4get their shooting boots at home. Come on you reds!! YNWA!!
I would also like to see this line-up, as I believe this is our strongest starting XI. Only the fitness issues make this selection doubtful for today’s game. My guess is that Lucas and Insua could start. The most important thing though, is to have Torres fit & firing.

Great Lineup! Hope we’ll see something like that. I’m just nervous about Kuyt, he have played way under the expectations this season, but somehow he seems to get every minute on the pitch.. If Riera is fit, he could be an option on the left and then put benayoun out on our right. But its up to the manager.. In Rafa we trust!
