Big guns drop points!

This weekend’s PL fixtures have been disrupted by the big freeze that has hit the United Kingdom, but we have had two matches played notwithstanding the conditions two matches involving PL contenders and what now seem to be top four candidates in the form of Birmingham City.

The games played today, Arsenal vs. Everton and Birmingham City vs. Man Utd have made it more evident that while our Reds are enduring a below par campaign, this season will be no joyride for anyone’s aspirations.

Both Arsenal and Man Utd had to come from behind to save a point against hardworking Everton and Birmingham and failed to close the gap on frontrunners Chelsea. If there is one common denominator this season, it’s that everyone is dropping points and no one seems to be unbeatable.

As far as the Reds are concerned, there is only one option if there is any possibility of clinching the much desired 4th spot which is now being vied for by 5 teams. We must win, win and….win! This is going to be a photo finish season from winning the title to staying in the top flight so every team you face is going to give you a run for your money.

For sure we will not be grumpy seeing Voronin run like what many described as a ‘headless chicken’ when given the few scraps of play by Rafa. We will not bemoan the money spent 18 months ago on Dossena. And who knows what changes will come by the end of the transfer window. Will we see a more inspired Liverpool in 2010? Will we have the passion, drive and quality to climb the table in a position that is more befitting LFC?

Come on you Reds!
