Will this be a decisive month?

Posted by

Last week I had endeavored in predicting our February fixture commitments and I am very happy to say I got the first one right (means so much). Not the result of course but who bloody cares! 

We all realize we have some serious PL games coming up especially with Arsenal and Man City, both of which away from Anfield. While I predicted a draw for both matches and at the same time hoping for something more, I have taken a look at what our 4th place contenders (Man City, Spurs and Villa) have on their agenda for the same month. In brackets besides each PL game I’ve put my points predictions.

Liverpool vs. Everton 2-1 (3)
Arsenal vs. Liverpool 1-1 (1)
Man City vs. Liverpool 2-2 (1)
Liverpool vs. Blackburn 2-1 (3) Total 8 points

Man City vs. Bolton (3)
Stoke vs. Man City (1)
Man City vs. Liverpool (1)
Chelsea vs. Man City (0) Total 5 points

Wolves vs. Spurs (1)
Wigan vs. Spurs (1)
Spurs vs. Everton (1) Total 3 points

Aston Villa vs. Man Utd (1)
Aston Villa vs. Burnley (3)
Hull City vs. Aston Villa (1) Total 5

We have only one direct encounter in February but most definitely our 4th spot rivals will drop points same as us.

Then the best thing after all the above is that Torres will be back!

  1. Ya all those calculations make a lot of sense..but we need to keep winning..and after seeing mn city against hull yesterday ..i must say that if we just keep tight at the back just like the last month..Well, man city too can be beaten man!!
I mean we should do that and that match will be the most important encounter for us in the premier league this month..(I say this because with a 3 match in-hand position..and just 3 points below us they are the favs. to supercede us more than Villa & spurs..)
Go REDs ..lets Bring them down ..1 by 1..

  2. Hey Tonio, I see you included our game from yesterday but not the games of the other 3 teams, i.e. Hull v City, and Spurs v Villa, What were your initial predictions on those games?

  3. Never forgotten my friend. For some weird reason the Reds are playing so well at the back I would NEVER disrupt the current line up….pity The Greek will be suspended for that Red. It’s unbelievable how the Ref did not penalize Felaini especially after the succession of tackles and elbows he had put in up until that stage!
I’m not saying am not happy for Glen’s return, I am just saying we have NOT been leaking goals, so why change?
As for Yossi, I’d have him in the line-up every single game hands down.

  4. Adventsparky. To be honest, only got to make this reasoning yesterday. As for the games played by Man City, Spurs and Villa the results could not have been better for our cause. It would be too easy now to add them to the list of fixtures, don’t you agree?

  5. ..I thought, if the team could display the same type of passion & commitment like in the games against spurs and everton, then we will win all the remaining games up to the end of the season!!!
