Liverpool FC: The “RB” Pair, Rafa Benitez & Ryan Babel.Bad Boy Who ?

That has been very much the story of the season..Ryan Babel has
tried..but just not enough to please the gaffer..in this writing i
hereby present two angles of the story..

Rafa Benitez may just have had to think what made him sign a deal last
year if only he could forsee all this (which would have required
phenomenal if not Divine ability by the way) everything has gone so
terribly against liverpool fc..The problems have been many right from
the owners managing to balance between miserly expenditure and holding
a majority stake in the club inspite of a lot of criticism to a hell
lot many more..

However if Rafa has gone a little late if not awry , it is in
utilising the prowess of Babel..
As a player Babel had earned a lot of fame in his early years both for
his clubs and National squad..Although underperforming at times and
injured for sometime..Ryan Babel surely wouldn’t find the bench as
long as he had if it had been any other club other than Liverpool
whose solitary striker (of REPUTE) has been injured so often.

Babel joined Liverpool fc as a striker but has rendered mainly as a
leftwinger.. and inspite of flashes of brilliance he has been left to
warm the bench once too often..
For a talent like Babel that could be annoying..especially seeing Ngog
play who certainly hasn’t done anything brilliant ..other than an odd
goal here & there (given the amount of time he has been on the
pitch..)..mingled with a few cases where he won crucial penalties
(which have not been very glorius to say the least)

However that is as far Talent goes, however Babel’s attitude towards
his gaffer hasn’t been the best also..the Tweeting incident bearing
ample testimony to that fact…after which babel has almost anonymous
for the month..and has now again begun to show promise..when a chance
has come his way..

I couldn’t belive it when I saw RAFA starting Unirea with Ngog and not
Babel especially after that promising performance against arsenal
recently..Keeping in mind the big game coming up against City, thought
it would have been a good idea..never mind Ngog scored the winner..but
he scores one in a dozen of matches ..with the same exposure , you can
bet Babel wouldn’t have fared any worse..

How much Liverpool fans dislike Spurs and Manchester United..Harry and
Ferguson have both shown a lot of maturity in playing Bentley and Nani
even though they had altercations with them..both of them have
performed admirably ..(barring a moments’ madness that caused the red
to nani)..

Rafa has done well to see to the fact that Liverpool concede nothing
or a minimum at most..but Liverpool are always known for their scoring
abilities and to do so hope RAFA brings in Babel in particular to our
starting line-up as soon as possible..more so because with Torres
coming back in sometime soon , the best of Babel may be clouded
forever..(as RAFA will surely then sell him in the summer..)

  1. Um… babel played on the left for Ajax. It was the u21’s coach who played him as a forward. Good article though just not sure he is a striker. That first touch of his is pretty brutal

  2. The thing is that I’d much rather see Babel come on as a substitute and I’m sure many would agree with that, as his better performances in his Liverpool career have come from off the bench and not in the starting line-up. I understand that a player performing well as a sub should logically inch closer to a starting position but perhaps Rafa is not ready to risk Babel’s performance as a starter rather than a sub, and that is with good reason. But I do agree that Rafa can do better than to start N’Gog up front.

  3. Rafa’s main concern now is if he plays him and he doesn’t perform then we get nothing for him in the summer. I personally would like to see him have more starts than n’gog really but hey, I’m not the gaffer
