What if …

After watching the highlights of yesterday’s clash against Sunderland I had to think. Loads of questions in my head … Why can we always play like we did on Sunday? Our lads played such a good football. Chance after chance after chance … Even Ryan Babbel managend to impress me with his footwork, which I have to admit, do not happen that often.

It should have been more than this 3:0, we should have been score more goals. Imagine all the chances turned into goals? There would be 7:0 probably! What a sweet thought that is!  Though … Well …  “The Bad Luck Issue” again … Bad luck seems to love Liverpool, especially Fernando Torres (which isn’t a big surprise, is it? Who doesn’t love this guy?) Watching this lad playing is a complete delight. He scored seven goals in four matches. It’s utterly, utterly brilliant! He’s brilliant! Imagine he wouldn’t be injured during the major part of the season … Imagine Stevie and Johnson wouldn’t be injured for so long as well … We’d be invincible! We didn’t have to struggle that much and we didn’t have to play in Europe League where we, quite honestly, do not belong. (No offence, please) Nevertheless, now we do play in the Europe League and we have to make the best out of it. If weplay against Benfica like we did on Sunday, we do not have to worry. I hope good luck will be on our side this time.

I hope Glen Johnson will play as good as he played yesterday. I hope Stevie will play as good as played yesterday. I really don’t understand what the pundits want from Stevie’s performance? His did an absolutely great job. With commitment and many chances created. Where’s the problem? If someone wants to fuss, he’ll find something to fuss about anyway.

I wish we’d keep playing like that. I wish we could turn back time and play like that the whole season! I wish … No, I want answers! And I want the to be made on the pitch!

Walk on lads! YNWA

  1. I agree with one thing you have said Amanda, Liverpool played well yesterday. It was great to see Babel have a good game (however I must stress, he only had a decent first half). Insua, Maxi, Johnson and Gerrard also had good games. However, you goon to say why can’t Liverpool play like this all this season. Well your answer is the manager and his tactics. Who didn’t play yesterday?? Lucas didn’t. Im not saying that Lucas is a poor player, he is good at what he does, and what he does is break down attacks, he is an improving defensive midfielder. The reason who liverpool havn’t played like they did yesterday is purley on the fact that Lucas and Mascherano have been played in the same team, and it is constant that they are being played, and its only until now, in thee business end of the season, when it can argued that its too late, that he has started to realise this. As for Gerrard, argubaly his worst season as a liverpool player, partly to blame is him of course, but, does any body know what Gerrards role is this season?? not even he knows. we say that Gerrard can play anywhere in the team, that the sort of quality player he is, but it is a well known fact that he thrives off playing in the centre of midfield, and its a well known fact that thats where he is more affective. not on the right, not on the left, nor as a second striker. OK we have had “bad luck” with injuries, but the way he have been playing this season isnt influnced by that. its influenced by the manager tactics, which all seaoson have been poor and defensive.

  2. Don’t say it’s just the tactics that are affecting the way we play, even with two holding midfielders we’ve still had attacking players on the pitch! It’s not the tatics why we have been playing bad it’s our wide players cutting intoo much leavin the defence to cover, when we played Pompey and Sunderland we it them wide torres was a winger for a lot of the game and it did damage! So don’t just be blaming the ref with this one as the blames not all on his sholders.

But Babel is a skillful player just hasn’t had a chance, now Johnson is getting back hopefully we can start pulling defences apart with more options wide and going forward. Babel should be starting on the wing with Maxi as they arethe most effective in those positions, just a shame about Riera as he would has had a field day pinging balls to Torres on sunday!
