  1. when the hell does a manager need to explain to the media and public regarding a substitution of one of his players???

  2. I completely agree with Paul Tomkin’s words, especially with regards to Ngog. I am amazed at the amount of people who do not rate this lad. Yes, he’s not at a level where we can rely on him to do the job that Torres regularly does but you can see the massive potential. He tall, he’s got good pace, intelligent play and a decent touch. The one thing he’s possibly lacked is a killer touch in front of goal but when he’s only 20 I don’t expect him to be perfect.

I get the impression that a lot of fans look towards the likes of Ronaldo and Messi, and then believe that if a youngster isn’t blindingly brilliant from a young age, then they shouldn’t be considered for Liverpool. That just stinks of people who either get all their football knowledge from a computer game or believe that the likes of Chelsea and City are a wonderful thing for the game.

Some players take a little time to really shine and Ngog has definitely got the potential. Maybe he’ll never reach that next level but it would be criminal not to take the risk.

  3. I did support about 90% when Rafa made that sub. If and only if Ngog had scored it should be a different story by now. Lucky we didn’t concede after all those misses.

Hope Liverpool will kick out Benfica on Thursday night so most of us can have a nice sleep.

  4. @ Brad..i have read the article and I trust Tomkins..but still I am Sorry ..

N’gog has a lot of potential.. is a statement only for the reserves 11..
N’gog has a great goal scored to minutes played ratio..but he also has probably the best goal missed to minutes played ratio..

I feel Sorry for Rafa..N’gog did good enough in the lower level to get a chance for the first team..but if he misses sitters, like those against Brum, and God forbid if it comes down to those two lost points and we lose the fourth place contention..N’gog’s age and potential will not stop most of the fans of Liverpool from wrongly criticising Rafa..when he had rightly expected n’gog to at least put those chances away..

Mind you he did the same against Blackburn at Ewood park and we lost two points there too…

i don’t know Brad how you say what you do..but If Liverpool FC is a big club we should be able to see better players than N’gog make the first team..
I am not blaming (just) Rafa ..We needed better scouts to bring in better youngsters. I don’t know how even Eredivisie teams manage that better than us..

Tomkins said he probaly could name 20 players (or a little more)who didnot do well in their first season but improved gradually to succeed..well he also knows there are much more who had the potential and did not make it big..so as of now ..N’gog is still a risky bet..It would be best if we could get some better striker and loan the kid off to some other team where he can have regular football for a year or so ..then may be he could be called upon..

  5. Now what has happened to rafa ???? Is he really thinking of investing in Lee and Rodallega as some reports say..??

Easily possible that these could well turn out to add his “Unsmart Transfer Market” reputation two other scalps..

I mean if he really has plans to invest why is he blindly emulating Ferguson..who had gone for Park ji Sung analogy to Lee and Rodallega analogy to United’s valencia buy.

Really if at all he should think of investing it could be for

    kevin Doyle for Striker Option

Milner / J.Mc Carthy (it would be far cheaper ) for Mid field

and not the ones he is pondering on..

I agree Rafa knows more than me..but I hope that shows if and when he exercises in the Transfer Market this time..
