This is Anfield

Last week
we were witnesses of how fans can be part of the game. The referees at Stadio
Da Luz were intimidated by the noise (and the flares!) of Portuguese fans. We
all know how it ended, controversial decisions, Torres being fouled every time
he got the ball, and every single Liverpool supporter frustrated.

“The trouble with referees is that they know the rules, but they do not
know the game.”

Bill Shankly

Second leg is at Anfield where we’ve been strong lately with eight games
unbeaten, and having scored 18 goals and received just 2, and 10 goals socred
and received
just 1 in our last three games.

“It’s
great grass at Anfield, professional grass.” – Bill Shankly

On Thursday
we have to show the Portuguese and the refs how the Kopites do it, the
Liverpool way. Bring the best of those magical European nights that Anfield has
lived. We have to bring the chants of half time at Istanbul, that would give
the players that boost they’ve seem are lacking off. We need to bring back that
spirit of those incredible nights against Mourinho’s Chelsea, The Kop will roar
as always but the entire stadium has to become part of The Kop. The “You’ll
Never
Walk Alone” before the game will ignite our game but we have to keep showing
the magic of Anfield, that magic that has made the stadium is known worldwide
as the best
place to play football. Everyone at Anfield has the chance to be the 12th
man and become part of the game, be part of the road to Hamburg.

The Kop is
our key to Hamburg, we have to show the world that.. THIS IS ANFIELD

“This is to remind our lads who they’re
playing for, and to remind the opposition who they’re playing against.”- Bill
Shankly about the ‘This is Anfield’ plaque
