Justice For The 96

Posted by

15:06, 15.04.89, 96. These are numbers etched into the hearts and minds of every Liverpool fan around the world. It was at this time, referee Ray Lewis blew his whistle for the last time on that sunny April afternoon. According to official records, it was in the following 9 minutes that 96 of our brothers and sisters perished. This ‘cut-off’ point has never been accepted by the families, whose fight for justice continues, 21 years on.

I am from Ireland and watched the disaster unfold from a very safe distance. I have no story to tell, I did not lose anyone I knew that day. My purpose for writing this is purely to remember the 96 football fans that never came home:

Antoine has already named each of the victims. I have just added a picture of each of them above in happier times.

NEVER FORGET

  1. RIP 96
Today no one is a club supporter
    But a Supporter of football
    And a Human begin
Those kids should’ve grown up and had families
The elders should’ve watched their kids grow
Those innocent human begins, should’ve been able to wake up the next morning
    and just be alive.

From everyone at Manchester United, and around the world . I send my condolences to the 96 and their families, who will be forever be with the 96.

    RIP x
