Training on the train, some ideas for the long trip

Posted by

The Reds have started the long train ride down to Madrid for the Thursday Europa League Semi-Final game. This will off course mess up the training schedule, I came up with some ideas on how the players can make up for the lost training session.

Bend it on a train : As the train is weaving and turning this will work nicely for Stevie to practice his free kicks. Take the shot from the third carriage and ensure that someone holds the doors open, the objective is to hit the driver on the head with the ball.

Jogging at 120 MPH : Nothing better than hurricane force winds to improve the players endurance. On top of the train will be perfect. Just make sure that the players duck when ever there is an overpass or tunnel, we don’t want Soto destroying France’s tunnels and bridges.

The Torres Bounce : In honour of El Nino; all the players  should bounce while singing “Torres, Torres”. The objective is to derail the train.

Hanging off the side of the train : I have seen this in many movies and it will really help Pepe Reina exercise his finger muscles I would recommend he takes off his gloves for this one.

Slow down the train : Superman did this and I am sure that Soto and Masch can do the same, the objective is to try to stop or slow down the train from the front. If it is too risky then try to hang on from the back and push down with both feet, this is really good for the hamstring and calf muscles.

Slap the passengers : Run inside the train (from the back towards the forward section) and slap the passengers on the back of their heads. If the train has headrests then slap them on the top of their heads. This should give the players a very good aerobic exercise.

Of course no one should try any of the above, it is all in good humour. Wishing the players and supporters going to Madrid a safe journey. This volcanic cloud has taken a toll on me personally, I already had 2 flights canceled and am about to suffer a third cancellation.

  1. this is brilliant, just like a liverpool supporter, a great sence of humour, something we have all needed this season.
