Juventus have reportedly agreed terms with Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez, with the Spaniard set to take charge of the Serie A side from the start of next season.

According to the Independent, Juventus’ lawyers are due in England on Sunday for talks about releasing Benitez from his current Anfield contract.

The broadsheet claims that the Turin side’s president Jean-Claude Blanc is keen to reach an agreement and has: “…already fixed everything with [Rafael] Benitez and has in his drawer a detailed agreement of his terms and length of contract.”

The Italian’s have recently dismissed Ciro Ferrara as coach after a poor run of results and appointed Alberto Zaccheroni as caretaker manager until the end of the season.

Benitez, meanwhile, signed a new five-year deal with Liverpool last March, which runs until 2014.

However, after a poor season in which the Reds have been knocked-out of the Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup, speculation continues to mount regarding his future at the club.

Having been linked with Juventus in recent weeks Benitez admitted he was flattered to hear of the Italians’ interest, but insisted his focus remains with Liverpool as they seek to resurrect a poor campaign by earning Champions League qualification.

  2. its interesting that virtually very paper has the torres being hunted by man city story. I pray we get rid of our owners and they dont see a chance to make some quick money that we will never see again.

If reports of 80 mil are correct it would be very difficult to turn down from a financial view point but would be awful from a liverpool football view point.

  3. Torres would never leave fr another premiership club, As he’s stated in the past he’d go to Italy or back to Spain but I really don’t think he’d go to another premier league club.

The sad thing about these Gerrard rumours is it’s been knocking around for a while now and in all the local rags and glossys! (not to say that makes it true) but by all accounts one of them has moved out. It’s none of our business really and hope it all gets sorted over sooner rather than later as could explain some of his attitude problems this year.

Hope we can get a decent result on Sunday and give us a bitmore confidence to take it to them well and truely next week.
