The Wonderful World of Beating Everton!

Posted by

Yes, I know we’re not playing them anytime soon, but still it’s fun to beat them. And it’s always good to look back on the wins years later when you are coming off of a bad game (Madrid). And yes, i could look past the run in, because LFC is going back to the CL anyway. But why get ahead of myself like that.

  • Total Games 264, Goals Scored 404, Goals Conceded 342
    Win % 41.67, Wins 110, Draws 73, Lost 81
Average Home Attendance 39,148, Average Away Attendance 46,744
  • Oh and if that’s not enough to keep your interest, there’s more. I was looking around the interweb and found

On 2/11/33 Liverpool beat Everton 7-4.

Liverpool Scott, Steel, Jackson, Morrison, Bradshaw, Taylor, Barton, Roberts, Wright, McPherson, Hanson
    Goal(s) Barton 3 (15, 68, 85), Hanson (22), Morrison (36), Taylor (57), Roberts (76)

Many of the older fans remember when Liverpool went into Wembley to win the 1989 FA Cup over Everton. This was right after Hillsborough, and the club won it for the fans.

    Liverpool 3 – Everton 2
    Attendance : 82800
Team : Grobbelaar, Ablett, Staunton (Venison 91), Nicol, Whelan, Hansen, Beardsley, Aldridge (Rush 72), Houghton, Barnes, McMahon
    Scorers : Aldridge (4), Rush 2 (94, 103)

The first win against them came on 9/24/1897 in a 3-1 victory.

And finally players who have played both sides of the Derby:

    Player
    Abel Xavier
    Bill Lacey
    David Burrows
    David Johnson
    Dick Forshaw
    Don Hutchison
    Edgar Chadwick
    Gary Ablett
    Nick Barmby
    Peter Beardsley
    Steve McMahon
    Thomas Johnson

    1. what is the point of this ???? get something original. like you said – we are not playing everton any time soon so WHY. also the dates are in the american format ?????????. Write an original piece instead of just copying and pasting of liverweb. Granted you aknowledged them, but we as readers might as well just go to liverweb – its not as if you used a few stats to back up your story, rather your entire article is their info. Abaolute non reed – Dont give up the day job

    3. Stephan Dude please start writing something to the point and don’t be unnecessarily fanatic.

    4. of course i did – its an article, not a picture. how else will i gage the content to have an opinion without reading it. for all i knew, it would be riveting, so of course i read it. one only learns of of story good, or bad once its been read. i was waiting for it to explode into life & relevance – lol. also it makes the liverpool number sound like manure’s fans – being pre occupied with other sides – in this case everton, when we have our own agenda. in your defense, however i can understand the need to distract ourselves from our own plight this campaign as it has unfortunately been a disaster. ps – i hope ur right about qualifying for CL , cant see it personally, we need to win our remaining 3 games whilst also hoping that man city and spurs lose 2 out of 3 of their own.

    5. I’ve said this a few times about Stephen, it does seem weird being not from the city so you really don’t understand the rivalry within, that’s not me saying your less of a fan but you do seem obsessed with making remarks, articles about Everton and Man United. Makes no sense Everton fans are the worst for this and again this article didn’t bring anything to light and nothing new!
