A group of LFC fans petition FA against leverage buyouts

Thanks to Edward Lee for submitting this.

A group of Liverpool supporters have started a petition to get the FA to try to fix the way clubs in England are saddled with leverage take-over debts after new owners take charge. Liverpool F.C. and Manchester United are prime examples of how the top two teams in England could be fighting for their lives because of greedy owners who used leverage buyouts to takeover football clubs.

They only been live five days and would welcome any support.

Please tell your friends and any other football fans who don’t want this mess to happen again to any English football team.

It is great to see many Liverpool supporters joining the effort and doing all they can to save our club and prevent what has happened to us to happen to other clubs. After all we love this sport, we would not be supporting Liverpool F.C. if we did not love Football. Some might argue what good do these petitions do? Let me tell you they do more good then sitting in front of your computer bitching and not taking action.

So please show your support and sign the petition.

  1. Thats like closing the barn door after the horse as bolted isn’t it.. :(

I’ve noticed that people only seem to care if its anything to do with Manc Usa or Cessepool & none of the smaller clubs like Pompey or Hull… why is that???

Yes I’m a TOON fan & our owner took over a club with quite a bit of debt but at least he used his own money to buy it, unlike Hicks, Gillet & the Glaziers, but its us the fans who’ll be paying that debt off for years to come..

Maybe the FA should try keeping a tight reign on clubs spending before other clubs go the way of Pompey, god help us all in one of the top two clubs in England after go into Administration, what would that say about our so called top league!!!

  2. We all need to stand up in the name of football. It’s always the punter that picks up the tab. Soaring ticket prices and high cost merchandise and then we learn the true extent of the debts saddled on to our clubs. The FA SHOULD NOT allow any of this to happen or are they just lapping up the cream in their posh offices at our expense? No matter what team, what league, whatever- we all need to voice our disgust and anger at all of this. It wont be long before most of us cannot afford to go the bloody match (the working man’s hobby). ynwa

  3. Thanks for the write up EOTK. Loved the comments, especially the Cyprus – Toon. He highlights Oi !’s cause, and echo’s Antoine’s sentiments about people Bitching from their computer.
Oi! FA did this for all the fans from every club, to make the FA take account.

    Stand up and be counted!

    Numbers make a difference.

    Thanks for signing!
