An open letter to all Liverpool Supporters

Dear Fellow Reds:

Our club is going through a very difficult time, on the field we had a very rough week however we need to remember that whatever happens off the field is what is more worrisome.

October 6th is fast approaching and unless the club is sold or Hicks & Gillett refinance the loan then we might be taken over by RBS. While this is not the idea situation it would get Tom and George out of the picture. It is no secret that Hicks is desperately trying to refinance the loan in order to hold on to the club, which according to the media sources can be for up to another two years. Should he be successful then I fear the worst, we can’t have more stagnation, our club needs to move forward.

Many papers last week were reporting that Hicks had approached Blackstone in a bid to try to refinance the debt. Many Reds engaged in emailing the authorities at Blackstone and early Monday morning the bank distanced themselves from Hicks. While we might never know if it was our email campaign that caused them to back off some in the press have given us credit (Story Here).

On Tuesday Paul Wilson, a Scouse expatriate living in New York saw Tom Hicks outside the offices of Deutsche Bank AG and J.P. Morgan Chase & Co.. Paul took some pictures with his Blackberry and emailed them to his wife Erin (@ErinNYC75). Erin Tweeted the photos and within minutes many Reds were emailing the offices of JP Morgan and Deutsche Bank urging them not to give any more money to Hicks.
Erin & Paul’s story was published in the Wall Street Journal this morning (Story Here). As you know every single banker in the world reads the Wall Street Journal.

Yesterday, another great Red Mark Jefferies (@mikejefferiesL4 ) came up with the idea to target the US Media and as of this morning papers in Dallas, San Francisco, New York and Washington DC had already published the story.

Erin, Paul & Mark have shown how one person can make a huge difference in this fight. Let us all learn from these three great Reds and keep fighting to win our club back. Of course there are thousands of other Reds that are contributing to this effort but I wanted to give a special shout out to these three individuals who have put their necks on the line in a bid to save our club.

Spirit of Shankly is also organising a sit-in protest at Anfield tomorrow (Story Here), please support this effort even if you do not agree with S.O.S.. We need to unify and support each others efforts if we are going to win this battle.

YOUR CLUB NEEDS YOU

  1. Sit in protest should be strongly supported. We have no one else to turn to. The club needs direction and new ownership but it’s bullshit to suggest that sit in protest will frighten potential buyers. If anything it shows the attachment we feel for LFC. The protest is against the lying Yanks not the club.

  2. Iam from India. Eventhough i cant join with our fans in this juncture, i want to see that we are ainning at the end of the day. Thank to Everyone who works hard.

  3. Y’know, it’s kinda funny how in a time of crisis the club’s fans have grown stronger together rather than crumble apart. Says a lot about the character of the fan base for that to happen. I’m sure loads of other clubs would be nowhere near this level of protest if put in our shoes. It’s just tremendous to see this. That’s all I can say.

  4. realy am so worried since i have been reading about this tom and gillet, why can they sale the club the cub and get their share then leave our club for God sake, this made me to understand that the present condition we are on the premiership table is all generated from them,i also stand with other of our fans arround the world to protest against tom and gillet reign also no bank should fund them any more they pull their hands off the club.

  5. It is something of great joy that this Americans are been furstrated! We solidly behind you here in Nigeria… YNWA

  6. Looking forward to tomorrow. Will be there wearing my black ‘Standards Corrupted’ shirt. SOS have been fighting for 2 yrs to save our club from the 2 cowboys. Shame it has taken till now for people to realise what has been happening behind the scenes. YNWA

  7. The fans should organise a “Hit” fund and use it to hire a hitman/woman with the SOLE aim of taking out the Fat Texan F*cker and his Snake-in-the-grass ‘Partner’ – Let’s See their families hold onto us THEN if they learn the cost THAT way; Or if no-one wants to do THAT?

Besiege them – BOMBARD everywhere those two go to with emails to MAKE them unwelcome, SABOTAGE the ticket office to RUIN their revenue from OUR club, CHAIN The gates shut to DISRUPT match kick-offs and INVADE The pitch to get games stopped – Oh yes, BLOCKADE Executive boxes inside Anfield to and RUIN ‘Corporate’ packages to FORCE refunds from Hicks & Gillette – Do ALL that? And they’ll HAVE to ANSWER us in PUBLIC and WHEN they do? HUMILIATE, EMBARRASS And BOMBARD them until they GO. WE, the fans can FORCE them out and Force them out NOW – But we MUST be relentless…………………..

  8. Attacking LFC’s UK finances will not help the situation at all, that’s small money and its needed to pay the bills. Any refunds etc. will not hurt the Yanks at all.

I think a organised mass and sustained email (daily) attack on all of their USA companies and interests would have a far bigger effect, and could cripple their business interests over there. Get their American colleagues pissed off and rebelling against them would have a much better effect. We are in the UK, they dont give a fuck about us, their American colleagues is a different matter all together. Get the locals piss-off as they cant hide from them.
