Blackburn – Liverpool (Wednesday)

Follow our victory against Bolton we take a trip to Blackburn to face Roy’s old club.

Rovers are now owned by a chicken producer and when you have players like El Hajj Diouf in your starting eleven we can always expect some good clucking. The new owners have also recently fired Sam Allardyce who was now being linked with UB40.

Roy claimed that he will be resting Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres today and with Raul Meireles receiving a knock last Saturday we might see the return of Christian Poulsen to the starting lineup. I also think the gaffer will go ahead and start Fabio Aurelio and Daniel Agger hoping that they could save his arse again.

Predicted Starting XI :
Pepe Reina, Glen Johnson, Martin Skrtel, Daniel Agger, Fabio Aurelio, Christian Poulsen, Lucas Leiva, Joe Cole, Maxi Rodriguez, Dirk Kuyt, David Ngog

Kick off at 8PM GMT

  1. The ehing is I think Fabio Aurelio needs to rest tomorrow. Not that he’s not the best LB in the squad, but I don’t know if his body is ready to cope with 3 games a week. The last thing we want is Fabio getting hurt which means more Konchesky.

  2. It sure looks like we’re going to lose this game, well with the team you have predicted. I understand its a hectic schedule coming up but I think Torres should start this one after finding some form last week. I looks like a desperately slow side with little invention.

  3. we need 2 start with gerrard n torres for the 1st 45 mins together with Babel. Ngog need to start on d bench. Babel cn shake-off d defenders n shoot frm distance with El nino taking the rebound.

  4. If the predicted lineup holds true, I believe that Fernando will never regain any form what so ever if he’s not played for at least 60mins. Same goes for Stevie. They need the game time to build that telepathic understanding that is so greatly missing. Managing players doesn’t mean no play but limit their playing time. We need to win. And we can only win if we have the best possible team to go against Blackburn. With the world class medical services we have in place, I really don’t see the problem. 3 games a week is not something that is a strange happening in the EPL. So let’s pull up our socks and get on with the job. 3 points and nothing less. What’s the bloody use of winning one and then losing a the other. And if we’re using Stevie and Torres as subs, even I realise that they need at least 20 minutes minimum to have any effect on the game.

  5. That team looks more than capable of getting a result at Blackburn. A solid back four, with Cole playing behind Ngog, maybe Kuyt could make way for Babel and maybe Jovanic could get a game coming on for Ngog at some point.
Lucas & Poulsen obviously won’t do much but with them sitting back it gives licence to Johnson, Agger and Aurelio to push forward when necessary.
Then we will have a fully rested Torres and Gerrard for the Mancs, did you notice Fergie rested several of his big players against Stoke, so he’s ready for it.

  6. What’s the difference if we lose anyway? The owners aren’t going to sack him. Win, lose, draw, or playing just some of the most boring football will not do anything with Woy’s status. I don’t see anything happening. No point watching LFC playing away nowadays – especially with that lineup. Won’t bother waking up so early in the morning to be frustrated again.

  7. On form we should lose! Says it all really. makes me feel sick thinking about how dire it’s going to be but I can’t help but watch it. Hope I’m wrong. Come on Liverpool prove me wrong!!!!!
