Born a Red, live a Red, Die a Red and I don’t care!

The kings Tactics are sound, though today against Chelsea, we gave them to much respect and probably should have gone after the back line more with Raul and Stevie. We had plenty to cope with the Chelsea attack and that showed when they attacked on the break!

This is not about the bones I can pick in our play today, but it’s about the Liverpool fans response to the loss of Torres! I’m gutted he left, but I don’t see why we should burn his shirt and boo the guy. He is a professional footballer with ambition and a desire to win trophies.

Don’t blame him for the so called defection, blame H&G for promising him and us the earth. Fernando gave us a good 3 years of hope and memories. He could end up regretting his move, but the plain fact is, H&G ruined our club, hope was a long way off in my mind, especially when Roy took charge and showed that Rafa just had one bad season. Personally I think Rafa brought who he could, not who he wanted. If he had Henry as a supporter during his reign, we would be the most hated team in England now!

So please, as a Reds fan, show some dignity and remember, Torres is not LFC. It’s not his fault things got so depressing on the field and within the club, he was let down as were we. Maybe he could of waited until the end of season, but when you have been lied to and let down, why should he?

  1. James a couple of things I dont agree on mate. Rafa a couple of seasons ago, with or without the owners backing, was leading the PL by 7 points a almost over halfway point. Instead of concentrating on keeping a low profile and grinding result after result he provoked a war of words with SAF and lost out! He had his chance, he is history, Torres is history!
I have questions! Where are the Lucas boo-boys today? Where are the guys that said ‘Oh my God, Andre Marriner!’, did they prefer Webb? Did we achieve this fitness level in three weeks?
No, no and no! Lucas is tops, Marriner was not influenced by the home crowd and the players are as fit as they were three weeks ago but now have Kenny’s motivation, Clarke’s tactics, and Sammy Lee’s fatherly love.
    Well done Reds!
Strange how in one season Blackpool made the double on us and we made the double on free-spending and free-money loosing Chelsea!

  2. The reason people have so much hatred towards Torres is because he mis-lead us, he made comments to make us believe he was one of us. But instead was saying things that he thought we wanted to hear. He’s a fake.

  3. Torres was gutted at the final whistle, I now hope we can go on and finish above them to claim the last champion league spot (that will piss him off) and we will then see if it was for the footballing interests why he choose to leave.
Back to today, a very gutsy performance today pass and move, going back to basics with the man to take us forward in Kenny Dalglish.

  4. Great result that´s 4 in a row and we haven´t done that in ages.
Lucas held off Anelka and Lampard two seasoned internationals. Agreed Tonio. Poulson was neede as he couldn´t keep running
Maxi was all over the place. What is happening to him.
Kenny didn´t even need to threaten to use Suarez.
Carragher was my man of the match. The stop from Torres in the first half was class and was Istanbul like. What a way to come back from injury. He had been a bit below par for his fine standards recently. It seems the time out did him good as he looked refreshed.
Is Clark making a difference with the defence? Must be from what we´ve now got different tactics at the back and they pass when they come out.
The greatest thing is to see Kenny celebrate. It feels he is doing it for us. He has made so many shrewd decisions lately, the transfers, Clark, bringing confidence, defending players and club, and so much more.

  5. I am getting rather sick of the Fernando Torres Fan Club harping on about this selfish individual so much so that I am starting to wonder who some of these so called Authors on here really support. Please stop trying to defend this man. I really am starting to wonder if you people would be best supporting a club a little nearer home

  7. Torres is a disrespectful phoney who left for more money .We ALL suffered under H and G .We ALL endured broken promises. He could have left honourably and played out the season to the best of his ability and left with all the best wishes as a legend . That he chose not to do that was his decision and he can live with the consequences

  8. James
Torres lied….he left…he desserted the team for his own benefit. i have no love for him in blue…booo.

  10. I have no hate for Fernando Torres but sad to see him leave when we are turning the corner on our troubled times. He could’ve been part of a great revival and I feel he is going to miss out on some good times for Lfc,which is a pity because to be fair to him,he has endured some bad times here like the rest of us.Surely experiencing success after bad times will feel so much better than experiencing readymade success(thats IF he experiences any success at Chelsea anyway).

  11. I think that It’s best for us all to enjoy today’s result and forget about him. He’s made his bed. Let’s enjoy the renewed optimism that’s filling the air. The ‘fear factor’ will return to Anfield!

  12. Mr. Barlow, I also write on this website and you could’nt of put it better. Rafael Benitez brought what he could not what he really wanted. He had one bad year and he got kicked in the teeth by a very few fans and mainly the owners. I enjoy and love when I see players and coaches fall in love with the heritage and the city. Rafa Benitez was one of these people. I do miss him and wish him the best in what ever he decides to do and maybe one day in the future he can come back to LFC to have an important role. We have KING Kenny now and the future looks much brighter of all the sudden. Very well written work sir.

    John Ramos Castillo.

  13. Sunderland v Spurs next Sat The teams that are above and below us.
We faced Wigan and on this form should win.
Fulham may beat Chelsea too on the Monday
We coild be closing in on Europe

  14. Well torres all i can say is i think you got the words ambition and cash mixed up. Chelsea have more cash we have just as much ambition. Good performance today. Work in progress but nice to see more attacking options when we break. Thought carragher was superb after that lay off, not got much pace now but knows where to be at the right time.

  15. I agree with everything you said about Torres time to get over it and move on. Thanks for the good times Torres, in the end we can only hope to have people who love the club more.
