Kennys more than a King to me

Kenny Dalglish, King Kenny, Our famous number 7.

He’s an emperor, a football man from the days when football was about two things solely, Football, and the fans. Us. He’s bought back the joy to Liverpool FC in the short time he’s been back in charge with us.

That joy is what I believe the majority of fans wanted. That buzz back, that buzz that fills the Kop, the city of Liverpool and the heart of every single passionate supporter out there. A dark cloud has floated over magnificent fortress for the last couple of years, and suddenly, in a matter of days not months those clouds are dispersing and that familiar feeling is seeping back into the hearts of the Reds.

Suarez, Carroll, our two new men both quite obviously want to be here, and that’s what its all about, Kenny bringing that passion and aura back to Liverpool, the world’s very best want to play for us and we’ll greet them with open arms. If Kenny and Steve Clarke can’t get the best out of these 2, no one can and I thoroughly expect them to be lighting up the Premiership for many years to come.

Familiar faces, Gerrard, Carragher, Lucas, Agger and Kuyt all seem to be reinvigorated and it is quiet obvious that passion is flowing fully through every single player at Liverpool. Poulsen, the much maligned CDM has said he wants to become a great player with us, that is the sort of spirit we want at our club, especially after the time he’s had, which in all honesty and I’m sure he’ll admit it himself hasn’t been great. Yet he wants to reignite his Reds career and I for one will be behind him every second of the way. Kenny… again… PASSION.

Mereiles, where do I begin, the Portuguese is on fire, the Liverpool fire that resides above our great crest. Wonderful performances from a brilliant player. Yet there on the bench with a wry smile, is Kenny Dalglish, the man who can surely be partly thanked for this, Roy signed him and we must thank him for that (I’m no Roy hater, he just was not right for our club but is an absolute Gentleman and I wish him all the luck in the world at the Hawthorns) but Kenny has re inspired Raul in a magnificent way.

With Kenny and his team I see a future that can be great and can be Red. It’s too early to guarantee success, but the foundations have been built, and with the backing of our New owners (whose influence in this cannot be underestimated either) NESV/Fenway I think we can have an amazing Liverpool Red future. Whatever happens, that passion is back among us, and I for one haven’t been this happy or excited about the prospect of my club in years. Kenny the emperor.

  1. Thats all been said before, and I think your right. The main thing for me is the football forget the goals and the signings we are actually PASSING the ball the players don’t look like strangers even carra isn’t punting it as much as he used too. The triangles are a joy to watch keeping the ball and generally mixing it up. Things became bad under hodgson and we were not playing football and thats what I hated the most. Good or bad I will support Liverpool But playing football regardless of the result I will love it.

  2. Look, enough of the superlatives, your making us look the hopeless romantics every dog on the street seems to think we are. Lets just take one f***** game at a time and play it by ear. Enough of these kids running around like it’s the second coming. Your doing neither Kenny, the team or yourselves any favours. Every time it looks like our luck is about to change we do the same thing and get carried away with ourselves. Yes, it’s smashing that Kenny is back but I for one will be leaving the cartwheels until I see someone in a Liverpool jersey lifting the Premier League title above their head. Until that day comes we’re a work in progress. First is first, second (or 4th 5th or 6th for that matter) is nowhere.

  3. Nice post, good read. Karls comment is a good one too. When the team plays well but not get the result I’m not disheartened to be honest. And thats what we see now. The result was poor at the w’end & shouldn’t be accepted to draw with wigan at anfield, but it wasn’t for lack of endeavour,& we need to put teams to bed at anfield early. We are far away from top 4 at the moment but sticking with the king & investing in the playing side in the summer we can start challenging.
Gud luck to Roy at WBA, he done well for us in europa league but this livepool job is too big for him

  4. Kevin, the whole point of my post was not to suggest we are amazing and wonderful and world beaters again… Because we aren’t…. My point was that at least had restored passion and happiness back to our club… And that is surely the foundations of success…. While merely saying that raul mereiles has played really well which he has.. Are we not allowed to be slightly cheerful after all the crap we’ve endured these past years.
