Liverpool FC – The biggest supporter club?

Posted by

I just wanted to make a little article on the size on Liverpool FC.

One thing I’ve noticed when I am in all sports stores in my town, is that Liverpool FC is most prevalent. While they are selling Manchester United, Chelsea and the other clubs home shirt, is it a whole wall with Liverpool FC stuff. The home shirt, away shirt, goalkeeper shirt, drink bottles, bags… everything!

I don’t know if it is like this in other countries, but in Norway is Liverpool definately the biggest!

It only shows one thing, Liverpool have one of the biggest supporter clubs in the world. And with 18 titles and 5 European cups, I understand why!

  1. Sadly enough, United, Chelsea, ManCity, and Arsenal are the most prevalent of the EPL in my area of the United States. The top of La Liga are the only other teams I see in stores sadly enough.

  2. It´s nice to see Liverpool dominating the football landscape around the world and I´m sure 18/5 have had some influence in peoples choice of club. But I hope and believe that the reason fans really love this club, is not because of the trophies.

We´ve talked, chatted and tweeted about this on many occasions. The feel and the aura of Liverpool FC is unique and it would have been so, even without such a vast trophy collection.

  3. Here in Malaysia, its two horse race – Liverpool & Man Utd.These two is the dominant forces.Chelsea,Arsenal&Man City are on rising especially the latter one. What i dont understand is why on earth did Liverpool FC (LFC) dont take an aggressive approach to conquer this country and this region.I mean, almost every pre-season chelsea & Man utd come here.Liverpool?not a chance. Come on Mr.Henry,u arent blind arent u? i heard the rumors of the possibilitie of Keisuke Honda transfers to LFC.Let me tell you,he is the biggest star in this region, left alone in Japan. Ji-Sung Park?Nah,Honda is number one.Capturing him from CSKA Moscow obviously gave u unimaginable revenue in shirt, etc. thats only one way, surely there is another option to further dominated this region. The oppurtunity is there for the taking, lets grab it LFC!

  4. Not rly the same here in asia although LFC is big here its not the biggest unfortunately is see more united stuff than LFC here in Singapore or even when im in Malaysia or Thailand

  5. This is a great idea we need to see which locations are letting us down and make more effort to tap into it, FSG should be able to know the america market better than most, what are we doing in china ?

  6. Lol…. unfourtunatelly in My country Malaysia manchester united are the biggst! But there are still many liverpool fans than arsenal, but recently after roman took over cheelsea, there are 2 many chelsea fans

  7. In Brazil the local clubs are dominant but of the English club it is unfortunately Man U and Chelsea. Chelsea have had many Brazilian players and Man U´s marketing is better as Nike are strong in the country (the Brazil and Flamengo shirts are Nike). Liverpool used to be Reebok and they didn´t reach here but now they are Addidas things are changing as in their stores they have an equal footing with Chelsea. Only the home shirts though. Things will chage if Liverpool push back up the table.
In Buenos Aires there is a little Liverpool but Man City shirts were in many places due to Tevez´s strong links with Boca Junior. Messi and Bracelona reign supreme there.

  8. Sign Keisuke Honda. That will sort a lot out, including the support in Asia.
Oh and besides, he’s a great playmaker/left back/winger/attacker/free kick specialist as well. 28 caps, 24 yrs old, pretty agile and nimble and can dribble, and doesn’t mind the cold either(Dutch and Russian leagues).

  9. I’m from Malaysia and there’s something to do with the sponsorship thing. Previously when Carlsberg is the main sponsor, I don’t see many fans wearing it in Malaysia. But after the main sponsorship changed to Standard Chartered, LFC getting more and more fans here in Malaysia. Apart from that, there isn’t much die hard fans here in Malaysia. Some will change to other clubs when the other clubs clinched the title or in the right move (new multi billionaire owners that spend for star players).

  10. I’m a die hard Liverpool fan from Malaysia, unfortunately majority of my friends are Man Utd supporters. But Chelsea and Arsenal fans are rising.

  11. I heard from my American friend that Manchester City is getting more and more fans in the USA, because they’re glory hunters and they don’t know much about football hahaha.
