The ‘Dalglish’ effect

Kenny Dalglish has sparked a sensational revival at Liverpool, suddenly the dressing room and the training ground seems a nice place to be, Dalglish despite only being in charge of the club  for a short time has re-united the players and the players are now playing the type of football that the Liverpool supporters want to see. So how has Dalglish done it? He has established more of a link between the fans and the players unlike his predecessor Roy Hodgson, He has very much started a pass and move philosophy which has created a lot more chances and meant that players who weren’t playing to their best of their ability before Dalglish are now getting on the score sheet such as Raul Meireles. Dalglish has brought in two class strikers in Suarez and Carroll, I do however believe that 35 million deal for Carroll was a bit too excessive however when you consider that we sold Torres for 50 million and in my opinion Carroll has the potential to be one of the best strikers in the world as he is only young and has a long career ahead of him.

When Dalglish took over Liverpool were in the bottom half of the league and the supporters could only dream of securing a champions league place, but now a few months later it really is a possibility as Liverpool sit in 6th place and some if the teams in front of us are struggling like Chelsea and tottenham and we have to play United, City and Arsenal so we could end up finishing in 4th place at the end of the season.

  1. Long live the King.It would be nice if you can write without having to mention (Roy Hodgson’s)name. The quicker we forget that he’s ever been manager of our club the better. If they only sacked him bit earlier we would be in fourth place now.

  2. I mentioned the Dalglish effect earlier today, but I would disagree with your assertion that ‘He has very much started a pass and move philosophy’. Semantics it may be, but still, it is a reintroduction of this way of play, which is but a part of the philosophy known as ‘The Liverpool Way’.

  3. The Dalglish effect can be easily explained in three words .

But before I reveal those 3 words I’ll say a few about Kenny .

Firstly we shouldn’t over analyze .

On a nice sunny day we enjoy the sun , we don’t analyze the universe its physics & functions , we bask in its glory & be thankful for the day , we should do the same in this time we are lucky enough to be alive for , the time in which our King has returned to reign over all of Football , not just English , or European in which he will guide us to trophy’s aplenty but in World football because when Kenny Dalglish speaks , people listen .

    Why is that ?

Well because the man is a natural born Champion , a living legend from the mystical Celtic region known as modern day Scotland , he is a footballing genius with a touch of the Celtic wizard about him too .

To describe him as a player is difficult , if George Best was the Uk’s finest player then Kenny is without doubt Britain’s finest ever. To compare him to today’s players I’d say if you mixed Lionel Messi’s movement with Dennis Bergkamps intelligence & technique then added in a pinch of Steven Gerrard’s ability to win a match single handed then you get close to how good Kenny was .

Kenny didn’t play in games , Kenny was the Game , the match was just an event to showcase the Game Kenny brought , its difficult to describe just how good he was .

As a manager , he learned from the best & often credits Bob Paisleys role in his success during his first spell as manager & Personally I’m pretty sure Paisley has had an influence on him away from the sport too which shows in how he lives his life .

The man is an example to us all & there is a reason why we call him The King , we didn’t choose that name for him , we just acknowledge the truth .

Now thats Kenny Acknowledged , its onto the tree words of explanation which are …

    The Shankly Lineage .

We had a winning formula in place , promoting staff from within , when we broke from that we went into relative free fall .

Kenny restores the Shankly Lineage , & the great Bill Shankly is the father of “The Liverpool Way” .

We declined under Souness although part of our history he wasn’t promoted from within the club , we were slightly restored under Roy Evans , who was promoted from within & had worked under Shankly & his predecessors , we then became average under foreign leadership before almost becoming poor under a manager never qualified to lead us .

Then in steps Kenny & we have a direct link back to the “Bastian of Invincibility” otherwise known as Bill Shankly & once again we are on the rise .

Kenny happens to be one of Scotland’s most cherished sons & would be successful no matter where he goes or what he does but he is Liverpool FC’s favorite son & she will deny him no glory , she never has & Kenny knows exactly how to handle it .

He knows that because he learned from the best & I’m sure in time will directly groom his eventual replacement who I suspect might be Gerrard who is also blessed as one of LFC’s favorite sons with ample doses of her magic bestowed upon him .

So in closing , Kenny as a stand alone Celtic Champion chosen by the Celtic Gods of Scotland to represent their iron will & skillful wizardry is a formidable man but Kenny as manager with Bill Shankly , Bob Paisley & Joe Fagan backing him up each & every time he turns his eyes to heaven ?

Well you are talking about Liverpool Football Clubs Golden Child & you are privileged to live in the same era to witness how she will spoil him with glory .

    Sentimental claptrap ?

To answer that I point you in the direction of a Brummie who was kinda handy with a pen ….

“There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy.”

    Liverpool Football Club Forever !!!
