  1. Reading the thing about India, it seems to make sense for me. Steve McMahon has been involved in some shady business since he moved to Asia. This ‘academy’ in India isn’t going to be trawling round looking for the Slumdog Gerrard, they’ll be charging $1000, according to the article, for a kick about, this is a money making exercise, without, as far as I know, putting anything back into the community.

Now, as a Scouser living in Korea, “the best league in the world” does annoy me, quite a lot. The amount of people wearing Man United, Chelsea and Liverpool shirts, who have no idea about their local leagues makes me feel sad in a way. Their local leagues are the ones who need the money. Not the Premier League. The level of football may not be that good, but that’s exactly why smaller national leagues need the money. It will get better with money, time and fans.

Maybe it’s an English thing, the new “white man guilt”, “Premier League guilt”, or maybe I’m just a self-righteous prick, but I think that foreign Liverpool fans should at least try to watch their local teams live at the stadium, no matter what level they play at. Take some mates and beers, have a laugh, support your team, then back home to watch Liverpool on tv at night.

I know we have a fair few foreign fans on here… Thoughts?

    1. you’re right ben. but to be truth the league in my nation is kind of boring, not because the level we play at. but in my humble opinion, it’s because the lack of ‘fairplay’ in the game.
there’s somekind of ‘rule’ that home team must win or at very least draw. if by ‘accident’ the home team lose then there will be negative (at least) comment about the referee being paid by away team.

mind my bad english as it’s my third language and i rarely use it, anyway i’m from Indonesia

  2. I think its true! As far as live here in Mumbai, there are less football fans, most of football fans follow ManU, so i dont know who will come to the academy in delhi, where the fees is so high!
