ePetition for “The Truth” has support from 52 MPS

Posted by

Fifty two Members of Parliament have now put their support behind the ePetition created by David Hawkins to force the S*n newspaper to reveal who their sources are. It is nice to see MPs from other parts of the country giving their support, the full list can be found here.

Here is the full statement
“That this House supports David Hawkins’ e-petition which calls on The Sun newspaper to provide full disclosure of all its records including the sources of information and documents which relate to The Truth story published on 19th April 1989; calls on Kelvin MacKenzie to make a full and unreserved apology for this untrue story which his newspaper published; and calls on all media outlets to refuse to engage him professionally until he has done so.”
The link to the ePetition is here

The ePetition now has over 30,000 signatures and it will need 100,000 to automatically force a parliamentary debate on it.

Please remember that only British citizens (no matter where they are living) and residents of the U.K. can sign the ePetition. This is of course due to the fact that it is an official legally binding document. Also if your representative hasn’t signed the motion make sure you give his or her office a call.

  1. Only one Tory (and she’s a Scouser I think), is shocking. I thought they’d broken their chains to Murdoch and his mates – perhaps not.
