Rumours and more…..!

The Italian press is today quite active with regards to rumours connected to Liverpool Football Club.
It is being rumoured that Kenny Dalglish has thrown his glace towards Philippe Coutinho Correia aka Coutinho. The Brazilian 19 year old attacking midfielder seems to have fallen out of favour since being brought to Inter just before Rafa too over. Since then, managerial changes (Rafa, Leonardo, Gasperini and now Ranieri) has seen the Brazilian rising talent marginalized. The Italians claim we could go for him in January with a loan and purchase option.
The Italians, quoting The Mirror, claim the Reds are in for a young swiss midfielder. Fifteen year old Nicholas Hunziker seems to be on his way to Merseyside as apparently the Reds have agree terms with Basel. Can we get Michelle Hunziker too in that deal?????
Reds target Christian Eriksen has apparently said he would not consider a move to Man City claiming ‘At Man City I would be on the bench. Why should I go there?’ The Ajax attacking midfielder and Danish International, barely 19 years old, is one to look out for as apparently even AC Milan are keeping tabs on him.
Another bit of news coming out of Italy is that the Reds has shown a serious interest in 23 year old Osvaldo Nicolás Fabián Gaitán currently plying his trade at Benfica. The argentinian Boca Juniors product has already played for the senior national team 6 times. Not sure if we need another midfielder but he does enter into the 25-and-below purchase policy. Man Utd seem to have shown a similar interest. Benfica must rate the player highly since the release clause here is Euro 45 million…….!
Italian gossip specialists’ claims that Eden Hazard has expressed his wish to move to Serie A giants Internazionale should he decide to leave Lille. This would be a huge disappointed to many Liverpool fans who assumed that the Joe Cole deal had some sort of connection to the Belgian’s future destination. Nothing is set in stone, and should Liverpool qualify for Champions League football, then perhaps Joe Cole might be the pawn that could push Hazard north to Liverpool.
Finally, it has emerged that ex-Red Soto Kyrgiakos could be well on the way out of Wolfsburg as early as January as it seems he is surplus to Felix Magath’s requirements.

Being also an attentive observer of Italian football, there is a decent contingent of quality players in Serie A that for some reason or other do not seem to make the first eleven and in some cases are simply not in their Manager’s good books. Players like Milos Krasic, Fabio Quagliarella, Amauri, Vincenzo Iaquinta, Luca Toni and a certain Alessandor del Piero. Could we consider getting someone on loan with an option to buy? All quality players, but some are already on the over-30 mark….!!! Personally I’d go for Keisuke Honda because he is excentric, he is unpredictable, and apart from being damn good he would also open the Japanese market wide open for the Reds

  1. Definitely rate Honda, but not sure he’d be a productive buy, itd just overcrowd center midfield again, and he’s too good a player to leave consistently on the bench without him wanting to leave, meaning he’d have to be first choice. Since kenny only seems to be willing to play 442 thats unlikely since Gerrard will get back into starting 11 when fit no matter what, and it would be insane to drop Lucas.

    1. U r bang on target..I think either of lucas moura or mario goetze would be perfect for us. nothing more nothing less.

  2. Just watched Bellamy for Wales…………..WOW!!!, he was brilliant again and we must start him on the left!!!!. He scored a screamer and is as quick and fit as ever!!!!

  3. Youths crashed again – why do we sign all these foreign kids and they cant beat Bolton at home = none of them ever make if and why are Bellamy and Suares prolific for their counties – over to you Kenny

    1. True, yet 4 of ours started for the Under19s this week, so we don’t seem to be doing that bad. The thing is will these players make the first team or will be continue to rely on buying ready made talent from elsewhere? We have to say that the system has not be so sterile in recent times with Spearing, Kelly, Flanagan and Robinson making more than one appearance and Coady seemingly having a bright future as well. Then there is a second wave with Sterling, Suso, Adam, Wisdom…….all waiting to mature!
My point is if the seniors draw at home to Norwich and Swansea, don’t be surprised if the Under-18s loose at home to Bolton!

    1. ‘loose at home to Bolton’? T, you are losing the spelling battle, I hope you don’t ‘lose’ it altogether!

  4. ‘excentric’? Do you mean Honda used to play in midfield? You’re fairly ‘eccentric’ yourself T, but who am I to talk? Need a playmaker above all else, those we have at the moment just not cutting it. Although Bellamy’s pace up front would make a lot of passes look better!

  5. I sad it in other post and i say it again, Craig should start, leave Downing in bench and sell him in january to TottenHam or Newcastle :/ …until he’s not old…i would also like to see Suso a little bit, Honda is difficult to judge since he plays in Russia, i think he’s a good player but, not so good that he can improve this team, he could be a top bench player, but not sure a good enough starter, Krasic i can say that could be a good addiction, i’m italian, i don’t cheer for any italian team, only for Liverpool but i saw goals and some games here and Krasic is definitely a good player, not top, but an 8 out of 10 player (i judge Downing a 7 out of 10), he’s similar to Downing but more personality, he attacks the opponent and create opportunities for offence much more than Stewart, now he doesn’t play for a misunderstanding with the coach and he could be a good market chance in january for 13/14 pounds or in a trade with Downing

  6. @RealityCheck. Fair enough if you critiscise the first team but you have no right whatsoever to critiscise the academy. They are soo young and havnt reached their potential and students of the game, you need to make mistakes to progress, and they rarely make mistakes anyway. Barcelona’s Under 18’s lost 3-0 at home a month ago, I guess because of that you say they are shit also?
