Who the hell is Peter Reid anyway? Furthermore, It was a penalty all day, no question! I have played, refereed, and coached. He didn’t mean to hit it with his hands obviously, but one of the stipulations written in the FIFA law book is “Is the player using his hands in a way to make his body bigger in such to gain an advantage? question is undoubtedly, YES. The ball played his hands, and not the other way around, but the fact remains that his hands were up, and he is inviting interpretation of the rule by the referee. He gambled with what he did and lost. He should know better as a defender. Why do so many other defenders go to such great lengths to keep their arms at their side? They dont want to risk the chance. Case closed, anyone who disagrees needs to wake up and face the facts. Case closed!
