Could Gylfi Sigurdsson be our first Summer signing?

Posted by

All the talk is on Gylfi Sigurdsson, the Icelandic international is being linked with Liverpool following his indecision regarding Swansea. Sigurdsson was on loan at Swansea last season and made 18 appearances for Brendan’s ex-club, he scored 7 goals.

He is currently an 1899 Hoffenheim player and the Swans have the first pick to sign him however if he doesn’t sign then most likely he will follow Brendan to Liverpool.

Here is a great compilation of Gylfi before he joined Swansea.

  1. Siggurdsson hmmm, he is a good player, no doubt, the question is, can he handle the pressure of playing in front of the kop? Lfc is a bigger club than other premier league club with great expectation. Well if bredan has confidence in him and he fit his criteria, i av no alternative to give him my support as a true kopites that i am. Plzzzz reina, carra, downing shuld be shown the exit door and bring back aquilani, sign luuk de jong, adam-johnson, and de-jong of man city. Thank you.

  2. Certainly has a great shot from distance and would definitely welcome him to Liverpool. But having said that, offloading some of our midfielders would have to be a priority as well.

  3. i dont know raheem sterling should play along suarez sell sterling n henderson and get cavani try for forlan and get some top quality players on loan

  4. Spearing had his chances last season but he messed up well being a Local breed Loan him,Season-Loan Shelvey to improve, retain Lucas,Adams,Henderson in d middle of the park I have a feeling Adams would thrive in the type of play Brendan Rogers adopts,so is Lucas and Henderson. The problem Henderson had was being played out of position on consistent basis we have all seen his potentials when played in d middle of the park with his consistent pressing of the hard and harrying opponents into making mistakes..I have mixed feelings about Andy but with the price tag we can’t afford to sell him besides if Andy gets proper coaching and improves his finishing with better deliveries from wide area he would thrive.Tbh he’s under-performance has been down to poor deliveries from wide areas..

  5. The main engine in the tiki taka style is a quality deep lying playmaker which liverpool doesn’t have. Adam is way below average and should be returned to Blackpool for free. Lucas can play the box to box slot beside Siggurdson. Or DM like Busquets or Masch when Barca uses him in midfield. Notable DLPM around are…..Xavi, Fabregas, Joao Moutinho, Arteta, Jordy Classie etc. Shelvey can be trained to become one for the long-term. Just give him Xavi videos.
