Questions were asked when Brenden Rodgers forked out 12 million on Daniel Sturridge. Whisky nose claimed it was a risky signing before going out and spending 15 million on a unproven 20 year old.
Daniel Sturridge has slotted nicely in at Liverpool Football Club scoring 4 goals in his first 5 games including a goal on his debut against conference side Mansfield.One of them 5 games was as a sub at Old Trashford. Sturridge came on and linked up really well with Luis Suarez and grabbed a goal.
Since then Sturridge has flourished alongside 22 goal hitman Luis Suarez (17 in the league)helping Liverpool acheive there highest scoring win of the season beating Norwich City 5-0 at anfield and also helping the reds in to a season’s high position of 7th at one point.In the last 2 weeks SAS have showed real signs of quality in particular against Manchester City with Sturridge again on target and were also in fine form VS Arsenal helping the reds into a 2 goal lead(1 goal from Suarez in which Sturridge was involved in the build-up)before drawing 2-2 against a good Arsenal side.The signs are promising for the new SAS at Anfield especially with the signing of Phillipe Coutinho last week ,a player who loves to run at defenders and then lay it off for a team-mate to score.Can SAS help Liverpool get that coveted 4th spot this season?Only time will tell but if Liverpool do get 4th there will be 2 men getting most of the credit Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge
