Today’s match is highly anticipated throughout Europe, and anytime these two squads play each other it will always be a big game. However this match in particular could be absolutely monumental if Liverpool can escape Old Trafford with a victory. A chance to beat Manchester United at Old Trafford is always a delight but with the return of Luis Suarez, coming off a loss at home to Southampton, and having already beat United this season, Liverpool have all the reason to win this game.

With the loss of starlet Coutinho until the end of October, Liverpool lacked that creative, cutting edge in attack and did not have too many chances against Southampton on Saturday. Fortunately for Liverpool, their star player, Luis Suarez is making his season debut after a 10 game long suspension for biting Brainislav Ivanovic. Suarez brings that creative, attacking mentality and really brings the attack together just like Coutinho even though the two play slightly different positions. Whether Brendan Rodgers chooses to start him or bring him off the bench he will make a huge impact on the game as he will lift Liverpool even higher and hopefully provide a goal, and a win as well.

This is still a League cup game, so youngsters will likely feature from both side as well as stars. The likes of Raheem Sterling, Jordan Ibe, Luis Alberto, Andre Wisdom, Tiago Ilori, and maybe Martin Kelly, could all play a part in the game. But is still against United so no matter what competition it is their will always be excitement and great football, as well as the usual clashing between fans, as well as players. Raheem Sterling could really punish the United wingers and fullbacks with his blistering pace and trickery. Tiago Ilori could make a debut in this game with his very high potential, maybe bring out his skills to Brendan Rodgers and work his way into the first team. He can play in various roles and with injurys galore for Liverpool he could play anywhere in the defensive area of the park.

Daniel Agger is unlikely to feature after a freak accident in the gym and a sub par performance against Southampton where he was taken off early. So Mamadou Sakho should make his third appearance for the squad. Kolo toure was played out of position on Saturday so maybe Brendan will try pairing Toure and Sakho and see how that pair works. I think that Brendan might test out a back three as well, who knows. With four class center backs at his disposal Brendan could do whatever he likes.

Hopefully Liverpool can make it the worst week for Manchester United and their supporters after Uniteds 4-1 loss to cross town rivals Manchester City on Sunday. David Moyes will be under immense pressure to win this game while Liverpool have also come off a loss, yet with the return of Suarez, the whole squad will be boosted and hopefully some youngsters can prove themselves against United. All in all it should be a great game as this fixture always is. Liverpool will come marching into Old Trafford led by Brendan Rodgers to hopefully beat United for the second time in a month.
