Liverpool eyeing €20m Alan Dzagoev Deal

Russian playmaker has an affordable release clause…

Brendan Rodgers is very keen on CSKA Moscow midfielder Alan Dzagoev, and could make a bid for the Russian playmaker when the January transfer window opens, reports the Mirror.

The 24-year-old has an affordable €20m release clause, and the Russian giants could even accept a lower bid due to their current financial plight.

Dzagoev can play in any number of attacking midfield positions, but prefers a pivotal no.10 role – where he can link up with a striker and score and create goals.

We are inundated with stars in this position now, with the likes of Coutinho, Raheem Sterling, Adam Lallana, Lazar Markovic and the forgotten Suso all preferring to play in an advanced central midfield role.

Dzagoev is very talented, and during his younger years, he was touted as a future star of the world game. He’s never kicked on though, despite finishing Euro 2012 as joint top scorer.

Most fans would agree that Rodgers and the transfer committee should focus their attention on a dynamic centre-forward, an anchoring midfielder or defenders, but it’s still difficult not to get excited when creative flair players are linked.
