Liverpool again linked to African battling midfielder

Reds fancy Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu…

We are interested in signing Ghanaian international Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, according to Sport Mediaset. (Reported in the Mirror.)

The 23-year-old (consistently linked in the summer) currently plies his trade in Serie A, and is an automatic starter for Udinese.

Hull and West Brom are also interested in his services, which wouldn’t fill many Reds fans with too much excitement, but his performances this year have been fairly impressive.

While his pass completion ratio this term is actually very poor (76.3%), his tenacity and enthusiasm in the middle just about makes up for it.

The African midfielder can also do a job on the right wing, but usually provides a central platform which enables the rest of his team to perform.

Despite the recent form of ‘Badu’ (as he’s usually known), he’s not really what Liverpool need right now.

His lack of technical ability means he’s little more than a ‘younger Lucas’, and the Brazilian fans’ favourite can’t get in the team anyway.

Supporters will hope we’re linked to top centre-backs, fullbacks and even forwards before we sign another central midfielder – especially with the recent form of Emre Can.
