Divock Origi Liverpool return: Striker commits to Lille…

Liverpool youngster Divock Origi has ruled out an early return from his season-long loan deal at French club Lille – taking to Twitter to reject claims he will be returning to Anfield in January.

The Belgian striker, who joined the Reds from Lille during the summer transfer window, was immediately loaned back to the Ligue 1 side, but his form has led to speculation regarding his future.

As the Daily Mirror explains, he had been tipped for a winter switch back to Merseyside to solve the current striker crisis, but such an arrangement now looks unlikely.

Mario Balotelli is yet to score a goal in the Premier League since his switch from AC Milan at the end of the summer transfer window, while Daniel Sturridge has missed the majority of the season through injury.

Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini are also yet to find the net this season, meaning the departure of star man Luis Suarez has left Liverpool very short up front.

But Origi has confirmed on Twitter that his focus is still fully with the Lille and is looking forward to joining up with Liverpool next season.
