Daniel Sturridge’s injury will keep him out for at least six weeks

Reports confirm Englishman is out until after Christmas…

Although Liverpool’s official website hasn’t yet announced the length Daniel Sturridge will face on the sidelines, a number of newspaper journalists have claimed that he’ll be out for six weeks.

Yesterday, the striker aggravated a thigh injury that has kept him out for ten weeks far, and fans are dismayed that he now won’t turn out until the new year.

James Pearce from the Echo reckons that Sturridge’s further absence will total 12 matches, keeping him out both crucial Champions League group stage fixtures, and crunch Premier League clashes with United and Arsenal.

The news is a massive blow for Brendan Rodgers, the player himself, and Liverpool fans who were desperate to see the star striker return against Crystal Palace at the weekend.

Instead, we’ll now have to head to Selhurst Park, the venue of arguably last season’s most painful result, without the 25-year-old.
