James Pearce from the Echo reckons that Sturridge’s further absence will total 12 matches, keeping him out both crucial Champions League group stage fixtures, and crunch Premier League clashes with United and Arsenal.
The news is a massive blow for Brendan Rodgers, the player himself, and Liverpool fans who were desperate to see the star striker return against Crystal Palace at the weekend.
Instead, we’ll now have to head to Selhurst Park, the venue of arguably last season’s most painful result, without the 25-year-old.
