Crocked Sturridge gutted about injury recurrence…
Jordan Henderson has told supporters that Daniel Sturridge is in a bad place right now after aggravating his thigh problem, reports ESPN.
Sturridge himself, having littered social media with positive messages about his planned comeback versus Crystal Palace this weekend, has not spoken since the recurrence of the injury on Monday.
“It is a big blow, not only for the team but for him as well,” Henderson began.
“He is devastated, at a really low point really because he was looking forward to getting back playing. He felt good so it is disappointing for us as a team and him personally.”
Having now re-injured the same thigh twice and missed two scheduled comeback matches, it’s no wonder that Sturridge is feeling so bad right now.
Virtually his entire season has so far been ruined, and he isn’t likely to play again until after Christmas.
Fans are probably feeling as low as he is, having (perhaps over-ambitiously) pinned hopes of a recovery in form on his shoulders.
In his absence, the likes of Fabio Borini, Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert simply have to start scoring Premier League goals.
