Ridiculous speculation claims Reds are lining up Jurgen Klopp to be next manager

Not happening any time soon: Jurgen Klopp to be next manager…

Let me be the first to mock the rumours that claim Liverpool are lining up Jurgen Klopp to be next manager at Anfield. Let me answer the Daily Express in plain and simple terms – no, we’re not.

Yes, Brendan Rodgers is struggling, and yes he is under pressure after failing to maintain the outstanding standards he set himself during the previous campaign.

But to suggest that the club’s owners would undermine the man who masterminded our most successful top flight season in two decades is totally ridiculous, and simply a case of the Express creating a story out of nothing.

The Reds succumbed to a 3-1 defeat against Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon, with goals from Dwight Gayle, Joe Ledley and Miles Jedinak cancelling out Rickie Lambert’s early strike.

Liverpool have now lost three times in a row, whilst winning just two of their last nine league games. Fans and pundits have been rightly questioning Rodgers’ tactics as last season’s title-hopefuls sit 12th in the table.

In addition, Klopp, who has also been linked with a move to Arsenal, recently expressed his interest at taking charge of an English club, saying: “I think England is the only country I think where I should work.

“It’s next to Germany because it’s the only country I know the language a little bit and I need the language for my work. If somebody will call me, then we will talk about it.”

But to pretend that there has been even a suggestion of approaching the Borussia Dortmund boss among the Liverpool hierarchy would be hopeful to say the least. Now is the time to get behind Rodgers and his team, because they sure do need it at the moment!
