Gary Neville slaughters ‘woeful’ Liverpool on Monday Night Football

Manchester United legend thinks Reds are awful…

Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville didn’t hold back in his criticism of Liverpool on Monday Night Football yesterday evening, reports the Express.

As you’ll already know, we played one of our worst matches of the season against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday, losing 3-1, and making it four consecutive defeats in all competitions.

“Liverpool’s performance was woeful for Liverpool,” Neville began, sitting alongside our former centre-back Jamie Carragher.

“When you think of the standard that they set themselves last year, that’s what is damaging them at this point in time.

“I think a few of them need taking out and need a rest.

“This looks to me like a team who are carrying led legs, and that comes from lacking in confidence.

“These players are mentally struggling and physically struggling.”

Neville’s comments are damning, but in fairness, completely justifiable.

Not only do we make defensive errors in nearly every match we play, but our attack is stale, lifeless and predictable.

Rickie Lambert scored his first Premier League goal of the season, but Mario Balotelli and Fabio Borini are both yet to find the back of the net in the top flight.

We are currently heading to Bulgaria for Wednesday evening’s must-win Champions League tie with Ludogorets – one of the weaker sides in the competition.

Our performance level will have to massively increase if we are to pick up the crucial three points and remain with a chance of qualification.
