Deluded Moyes asks our captain to come play for him…
Former Everton boss and epic Manchester United managerial flop David Moyes has ambitiously asked Steven Gerrard to sign for his side Real Sociedad, reports the Daily Mail.
News broke yesterday that Steven Gerrard will leave at the end of the season on the expiration of his contract, meaning any club is now able to freely approach him on a Bosman free transfer.
A number of managers, including Moyes, have already started to sound out the legendary skipper…
“He has had a great career for his club and for England and he will be very difficult to replace. If he ever wanted to come to play in Spain he knows he can phone me,” said the Scot.
Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has also put his hat in the ring, although seemed to do so in a more tongue-in-cheek fashion…
However, it’s almost certain that Gerrard will leave Europe altogether and sign for an MLS franchise, with LA Galaxy the American outfit most likely to secure him.
There’s virtually no chance Gerrard would consider a move to join a Moyes side, considering the clubs he’s formerly managed…
