Ranking 22 of the best potential Bosman free transfers Liverpool could sign

Italian newspapers, as well as Telegraph, claim that Liverpool are eyeing up a £23.5m deal to sign AS Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic.

The Bosnian pass-master is one of the most impressive players in Serie A, and has been sublime ever since Rudi Garcia took over at the start of 2013/14.

According to the reports, we happy to offer Pjanic a £60k-per-week contract, which would be a slight increase on what he’s currently on in Italy.

The 24-year-old can play as a no.10, but is most comfortable in a deeper role, where he looks to dictate tempo and start attacks with his wonderful array of passing. He also prides himself on his through-balls, his long shots and his set-piece ability – meaning he could provide some of the quality in the centre we’ll lose when Steven Gerrard departs.

Pjanic has notched 15 Italian league goals since his move from Lyon in 2011, and has bagged nine for his country in 56 international appearances.

Liverpool have spent big cash on a central midfielder from Roma before of course, but the Alberto Aquilani transfer didn’t quite work out as we hope for, of course…
