Liverpool’s greatest XI of all-time

This time around, it’s Club Bruge’s Australian international Matthew Ryan, the Telegraph writes.

Ryan is a 22-year-old, and while it’s unlikely he’ll transfer this January, he could make the Anfield switch in the summer, with our scouts mightily impressed with the Aussie.

Ryan will be a cost-effective option as the Belgians won’t expect an extortionate fee, but fans will again be nervous that we’re targeting a goalkeeping youngster rather than the finished product we arguably need.

“I don’t see him staying for much longer at Club Brugge. I think he will move to a bigger team, possibly for next season,”Bruge’s former sporting director, Arnar Gretarsson Gretarsson said. “I know he would like to go to the Premier League, everybody wants to play in that league, but I could also see him in the Primera Division or the Bundesliga. He definitely has the quality to play in the big three leagues.”

The stopper moved to Europe from Central Coast Mariners in 2013, and has won 15 caps for the Socceroos to date.
