Brendan Rodgers gives Daniel Sturridge & Jon Flanagan injury updates

Parma are enduring an absolutely nightmarish season in the Italian top flight, and are currently rock bottom with just the nine points from 19 games – having lost 15 matches already!

As a result, the Gialloblu asked us to borrow Balotelli until the end of the season, but we told them, in no uncertain terms, that he was not available.

Instead, the Italians are going to ask AC Milan to loan Giampaolo Pazzini, as they set about the uphill task of avoiding Serie A relegation.

Although we’ve chosen to keep hold of Balotelli this January, he doesn’t seem to be in the first-team plans right now.

Despite Daniel Sturridge being unavailable, Brendan Rodgers has chosen to use Fabio Borini and Rickie Lambert ahead of the maverick striker in recent weeks, and with both Borini and Lambert bagging versus Aston Villa last time out, this might not change for a while.

With Sturridge closing on a return from injury, Balotelli’s chances of resurrecting his Liverpool career seem even slimmer.
