Liverpool’s 5 most hated current opposition players, following Diego Costa’s double stamp

Is there anyone more disliked than the Spanish hitman…?

In just three matches against us, Diego Costa has come across so atrociously that he’s earned himself the Elephant Man song.

In the League Cup semi-final on Tuesday night, not only did he stamp on Emre Can, but he stamped on Martin Skrtel, and then wrestled our captain Steven Gerrard to the ground.

The man will never be able to touch the ball at Anfield again without being roundly jeered.

But he’s not the only one…

Here’s five other opponents who receive similar treatment when in front of the Kop.

5) Marouane Fellaini

Fellaini ticks most of the appropriate boxes… He signed for Everton before transferring to Manchester United, and plays football in such an ugly fashion – limbs flying everywhere – that he always seems only moments away from ending somebody’s career with a brutishly mistimed tackle or an elbow. We’d probably rate him higher if he wasn’t so damn useless, but he is, so we haven’t.
