Brazilian to sign new long term Anfield deal.
Brilliant playmaker Philippe Coutinho, who provided both assists in Liverpool’s win over West Ham on the weekend, will put pen to paper on a new Anfield contract according to the Metro.
The 22 year old fan favourite has been in superb form of late and the club’s faithful support will no doubt be glad to see the former Inter Milan man commit his future to the Merseyside outfit.
The £8.5m to bring in Coutinho a couple of years back is certainly beginning to look like something of a bargain buy and he is pivotal member of Brendan Rodgers’ attack.
Coutinho has agreed ‘in principle’ to a new five and a half year deal that will run until 2020.
The new contract will see the pint sized midfield dynamo become one of the club’s top earners, and deservedly so.
Since moving to the club from the San Siro in January 2013 the Rio born attacker has racked up 81 appearances and netted 10 goals.
