Philippe Coutinho has been in fine form, impressing teammate Adam Lallana…
Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana has admitted that his recent spell on the sidelines through injury was made far more enjoyable by watching teammate Philippe Coutinho light up the Anfield pitch.
The Brazilian, who yesterday signed a new contract to remain at the club, has been in scintillating form in recent weeks, and continued his run of impressive performances with two assists in the win over West Ham United last weekend.
Speaking to Liverpool’s official website, Lallana said: “The little magician, as people call him, has been outstanding. I was injured for a couple of weeks and got to watch him from the stand.
“His natural ability is frightening and it’s great to see. It’s great to be on the pitch with players like that. He’ll keep providing for the likes of Raheem [Sterling] and now [Daniel] Sturridge is back.
“I’m sure they’re really excited, because he’s at the top of his game and he’s always going to be a match-winning player for us.”
