The rumours linking us with a move for the Burnley hit-man received an extremely mixed reception among supporters, with many critics claiming that the England hopeful would struggle if he were to move to Merseyside.

Thankfully, fresh reports in the Daily Express have today revealed that Ings has flown to Northern Spain, where he will meet former Manchester United and Everton boss David Moyes. If talks go well he could sign a pre-contract agreement for a deal worth around £60,000-per-week.

Ings is out of contract in the summer and is free to discuss terms with a foreign club. With Burnley not in FA Cup action this weekend, it appears as if he’ll use the opportunity to do just that.

The 22-year-old England hopeful has scored nine goals in 24 games so far this season, having scored 26 goals in all competitions last year to fire the Clarets into the Premier League.
