The hosts looked impressive from the outset, with Adam Lallana producing a superb finish on the turn to beat Joe Hart, only to have the strike ruled out for offside.

However, it was Liverpool who continued to impress – with Lallana once again at the heart of the home side’s good play, producing one wonderful pass and having another goal ruled out for offside:
Despite the impressive performances of many of his teammates, it was Coutinho who again stole the show, scoring a truly incredible winner:
City were deservedly beaten, and it could of even got worse for them when Wilfried Bony appeared to elbow Adam Lallana, only to receive a yellow card.
So, a brilliant result for Liverpool, and one that further extends our impressive run of league form!
