How Arsenal could line-up against us – analysing the strengths and weaknesses

Liverpool face Arsenal in one of the biggest games of the season…

Tomorrow’s game is almost as crucial for Arsenal as it is for us. The Gunners faint hopes of chasing down the seven point gap to Chelsea at the top of the Premier League table rests on beating us this weekend.

All eyes will be on the Emirate Stadium tomorrow lunchtime. Defeat would see the hosts cushion on Liverpool cut to just three points, while handing Manchester United the opportunity to move above them into third place.

As both teams strive for victory, here’s how we think our opponents will line-up…

GK) David Ospina

Has been favoured ahead of Wojciech Szczesny in recent months, and has done well. Still, small in statute and potentially vulnerable to high balls into the box. Set-pieces could be decisive for us tomorrow.

RB) Hector Bellerin

The current stand-in for the injured Mathieu Debuchy. The 20-year-old Spaniard hasn’t got much in the way of experience in the big games and could be among the targets for us to expose, despite doing well of late.

CB) Per Mertesacker

In contrast, the giant German is vastly experienced at the very top level. However, he was given a nightmare afternoon by the pace of Daniel Sturridge and Raheem Sterling at Anfield last season – he can be got at.

CB) Laurent Koscielny

Arsenal’s best defender. The Frenchman has continued to improve in recent years, cutting out the errors that plagued his game during his early days in England. Needs to be dragged out of position by good movement.

LB) Nacho Monreal

His impressive performances have forced Kieran Gibbs onto the bench for much of this season. The Spaniard was regularly and openly mocked for his displays last season, but has really tightened up so far in this campaign.
