He’s back on the Reds radar yet again it seems, with club legend Jamie Carragher the latest to have his say on the rumours linking us with the 22-year-old England hopeful, who currently plays for Burnley.

As the Daily Star reports, Ings is out of contract at the end of the season and will be available on a free transfer… although the Clarets will be able to claim a compensation fee in the region of £5m (via the Daily Mirror).

The England Under-21 international has scored nine goals so far this season to aid Burnley’s push for Premier League survival, while his performances have impressed former Liverpool defender turned TV pundit Carragher.

He is quoted in the Star as saying: “If I was Liverpool I’d be trying to sign Danny Ings. With Ings, you hear him speak, he says: ‘Let your football do the talking.'”

Brendan Rodgers is certainly believed to be on the lookout for potential striking options ahead of next season, with several of the current crop – including Fabio Borini, Rickie Lambert and Mario Balotelli – all set to leave, according to the Mirror.
